Hello dreamers! I am excited to announce our very first contest!
This will be a two-part contest, with prizes at both stages.
First we will share scenes from our dreams that we think would be cool as visual art! We will vote on which would be the most fun to draw (Part 1), and then we will draw that scene and vote on the best drawing (Part 2)!
Please find the details below.
PART 1: SUBMIT YOUR DREAM SCENE (CLOSED)
(copy and paste and fill in your own details, deleting or replacing words in the <brackets>)
We will then vote on which Dream Scene would be the best subject matter for Part 2: the art contest. In other words, vote for the dream scene which you would most like to draw. You may vote for your own if you like.
PART 2: SUBMIT YOUR DREAM SCENE ART (CLOSED)
DRAW THIS DREAM: A game of hide and seek goes awry when you get chased through an endless aspen forest by a stag with white eyes and unhingeable jaws.
Congratulations to EvilSaintGood for winning Part 1. Their dream is now the prompt for this art contest. Please draw the above scene and submit your entry to the "Contest" folder by May 7th.
If you are working on an entry and need more time to finish, please note the group.
Please comment on this journal if you have any questions/concerns (after checking the FAQ below).

PRIZES
Please note Admin ColaChu if you would be kind enough to donate prizes for this contest. All donations are welcome (points, prizes, etc) at any time. You may specify whether the prize is for Part 1 or Part 2. I will, of course, give you a llama and happily poke around your gallery in gratitude.
Your dream will be drawn by various artists in Part 2.

FAQ
What if I don't remember any of my dreams? Can I just make up a scene using my imagination? Or day-dreaming?
No, this is a small group with a very specific focus: real dreams you have while unconscious at night (lucid dreams are acceptable). If you do not remember your dreams, you can still fully participate in part 2 of this contest by drawing another person's dream!
May I submit more than one entry?
Since this is the first contest, let's keep it simple and limit it to one entry per person. This rule may change for future contests.
If your dream wins first prize for part 1, are you allowed to participate in part 2?
Yes!
Will the schedule be adjusted if there are not enough entries/votes?
I prefer not to alter the schedule due to my slight OCD (half-joke), but I will do whatever is best for the contest. If there are only two entries, that will not be fun, so I would extend the deadline in that case.
How will voting be conducted?
It depends on the number of entries. Most likely by poll. If you have a suggested method, feel free to comment about it here.
May I join this group just to participate in this contest and then leave the group afterward?
No, please do not do that. The purpose of this contest is to encourage active group membership.
Why 140 characters for the Dream Scene submissions?
The scene should be an art prompt, so it should be concise and lack enough detail to allow for some artistic interpretation. I chose 140 characters specifically because that's what Twitter chose, and I figure they knew what they were doing.
How can I easily count 140 characters?
